paint the walls, fold my laundry, stop smoking, stop drinking and
stop stealing sugar packets from STARBUCKS. No more booze or
coffee, I'm drinking green tea, buying floor wax, and putting in a
car seat. I'm ironing my clothes, dusting my furniture and
getting my back waxed. It's the new me, the better me, the less
hairy me. My head is pounding, my skin is raw, I'm dying for a
cigarette, a cup of coffee, but I keep scrubbing, keep washing,
and keep waxing. My pants are pressed, my shoes are shined, my
shower sparkles, I'm a cleaning lady, a scrubbing bubble, I'm the
poster boy for neat and clean. I'm humbled, I'm hairless, I'm
holding flowers, and I'm ready.” |
